This was my first sights of the iconic Heathrow Airport control tower after touching down exactly a year ago. It was both exciting and scary looking back at how things panned out. As much as I pride myself being adaptable, this might just have been a step to much.
I felt somewhat worried pulling myself out of my comfort zone, packing up my home, leaving my loved ones and friendships built over the years for a country 10,500km away. Though not new to the UK, I did feel a bit lost on what lies ahead. It is different being here on a holiday, now its work, life and really settling in with new friends. Fortunately, there is the extended family around and one or two old pals which were really there to support me in this transistion.
The flight was absolutely wonderful, thanks to my boss and company for making my journey as comfortable as possible. Never have I ever slept so long on a plane. Meals were alright and spoiled for choices of alcohol. I did get enough rest through the night flight kicking off my day early in the morning upon touching down in London.
As it was summer then but slight bit colder than this year, weather was great getting out and about. Had to visit my relatives first, just after missing my house viewing appointment. I survived the day, week, months and now a year. I surprised myself that I survived without a car for a year. Most importantly, I made it through winter which I was not so sure how it was going to pan out with electricity cost rising sky high.
Here I am today, with more exciting news ahead.
